A 16-year-old female with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) experienced severe multisystem complications due to a 2-year delay in diagnosis, during which she used herbal medications and acupuncture. Her symptoms included joint pain, fevers, alopecia, oral ulcers, seizures, and more. Upon diagnosis, she received treatment with steroids, IVIG, and rituximab, resulting in gradual improvement. The case highlights that delayed diagnosis in SLE can lead to increased disease activity and organ damage, emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis and management for better outcomes.
