TLDR The CTLA-4 gene polymorphism does not affect polycystic ovarian syndrome.
The study investigated the role of Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-Associated Antigen-4 (CTLA-4) gene polymorphism (rs733618) in polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) among 60 PCOS patients and 30 healthy women in Baghdad. Using the tetra-primer amplification-refractory mutation system based on real-time polymerase chain reaction (ARMS-qPCR), the study found normal genotyping in both groups. The results confirmed that the CTLA-4 gene polymorphism (rs733618) did not play a role in PCOS.
