TLDR Some CAM therapies help with pediatric atopic dermatitis, but more research is needed.
The document reviewed the efficacy and safety of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapies in treating pediatric atopic dermatitis (AD). Despite conventional treatments like corticosteroids, many patients did not see symptom improvement and turned to CAM, with a lifetime prevalence of CAM use in dermatologic diseases ranging from 35% to 69%. The review included a systematic analysis of 159 studies, featuring three randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and one open-label trial, to assess the effectiveness of these alternative treatments.
