TLDR Melatonin and Lissotriton improved hair quality and increased activity in mice.
The study compared the effects of dynamized forms of Melatonin 6 cH and Lissotriton 6 cH on hair structure and physiological parameters in 30 white laboratory mice (BALB/c-line). Over 14 days, 10 mice received Melatonin, 10 received Lissotriton, and 10 served as controls. Results showed that both Melatonin and Lissotriton improved hair quality, making the coat bright, healthy, and thick, with many visible follicles. Additionally, both substances increased the mice's activity and adaptability, with significant improvements in the Open Field Test and Behavioral Despair Test. Specifically, swimming time was 2.5 times longer for Melatonin and 4 times longer for Lissotriton compared to controls. These findings suggest that Lissotriton may stimulate hair growth and improve hair quality through an unknown mechanism, warranting further research.

Topical melatonin may help reduce hair loss and increase hair thickness in people with androgenetic alopecia (AGA), with some studies showing positive results. It can be mixed with minoxidil for application, and its effectiveness might be enhanced when used with micro-needling, but results may vary among individuals.
