Clinical Spectrum And Immunological Profile Of Patients With Mixed Connective Tissue Disease Presenting In A Tertiary Care Hospital

    TLDR Early treatment of mixed connective tissue disease is crucial to prevent severe autoimmune conditions.
    This study examined 45 patients with mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD) at Fatima Memorial Hospital in Lahore, revealing a predominance of females (42 out of 45) with a mean age of 33. Common clinical features included Raynaud phenomenon (80%), skin tightness (46.7%), arthritis (46.7%), and diffuse hair loss (37%). Immunological profiles showed high prevalence of antibodies such as ANA (73.3%) and U1RNP (53.3%). The study highlights the importance of early treatment to prevent progression to full autoimmune rheumatological conditions.
