TLDR Women of child-bearing age with androgenic alopecia lose hair density, especially in certain areas, and their hair becomes thinner. They also lose more than twice as much hair as healthy women.
In 2011, Mareeva AN conducted a study on the clinical manifestations of androgenic alopecia in females of reproductive age. The study involved 87 patients with androgenic alopecia and 30 healthy female volunteers. The results showed that females with androgenic alopecia experienced a reduction in hair density, particularly in the androgen-dependent area, and a decrease in average hair diameter. Additionally, there was more than a twofold increase in the percentage of lost hairs compared to the control group.
