TLDR Women using 5% minoxidil for hair loss were mostly satisfied and had improved quality of life, despite some impact on social life and hairstyle choices.
The study evaluated the psychological, social, and quality of life impacts of androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in 31 women using 5% minoxidil daily for at least six months. Results showed that 83.9% of participants were satisfied with the treatment, despite hair loss affecting social life in 54.8% and hairstyle choices in 87.1%. While 51.6% reported slightly increased hair loss, it did not worsen after starting treatment. Observations included a frontoparietal pattern, low capillary density, and miniaturization in all patients. The study concluded that women with AGA using 5% minoxidil experienced high satisfaction and quality of life, although hair loss impacted daily habits and social interactions.
