TLDR Cryotherapy and compression therapy might help prevent chemotherapy nerve damage, but more research is needed.
The document reviewed the use of cryotherapy and compression therapy for preventing chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). It noted that cryotherapy had shown potential in reducing the incidence and severity of CIPN, as well as nail toxicity, but lacked definitive proof of safety and efficacy. Challenges included rare frostbite cases, patient discomfort, and logistical issues. Compression therapy and combined cryo-compression therapy also appeared promising, but further research was necessary to confirm their effectiveness in CIPN prevention.
