TLDR Chemical hair relaxers are not proven to cause uterine cancer.
This document reviews the relationship between chemical hair relaxers and uterine cancer, particularly focusing on products used in the Black community. Despite the presence of scalp-irritating ingredients in relaxers, few epidemiologic studies have investigated their link to uterine cancer. The review aims to debunk myths and highlight the lack of data, while also emphasizing the need to differentiate between various hair straightening techniques used by people of color.
