TLDR Cannabis may help with skin and hair health but could also increase heart and stroke risks.
The document reviews various studies on Cannabis sativa, particularly its potential role in dermatology and hair regrowth. Sheriff et al. (2020) suggested potential dermatological benefits of cannabinoids. Smith and Satino (2021) indicated a potential role of topical Cannabidiol (CBD) in hair restoration through a case study. Sun et al. (2017) found that Cannabidiol could influence hair pigmentation by upregulating melanogenesis via a CB1 dependent pathway. However, potential adverse effects of cannabis use, such as cardiovascular complications (Singh et al., 2018; Thomas et al., 2014) and possible stroke risk (Wolff & Jouanjus, 2017), were also mentioned.
