TLDR The book is a detailed guide on aesthetic surgery with useful content and visuals, but lacks new techniques and a CD, rated 4 out of 5.
The reviewed book, "Plastic Surgery, 3rd Edition. Volume 2: Aesthetic Surgery," edited by Dr. Richard J. Warren, is a comprehensive resource on aesthetic surgery, divided into two sections covering facial aesthetic surgery and general aesthetic surgery. The volume, consisting of 31 chapters and 677 pages, is praised for its clear descriptions of operative techniques, high-quality photography, and artwork, as well as supplemental online materials, although it does not introduce new techniques. Strengths include the editor's choice of well-known authors, an excellent introductory chapter on managing cosmetic patients, and the logical structure of the book. However, the absence of an accompanying CD was noted as a weakness, particularly for older surgeons who may find online navigation challenging. The book is deemed an excellent resource for both young and experienced surgeons, with a rating of 4 out of 5.
