TLDR Higher blood pressure and genetics increase alopecia risk.
This study investigated the relationship between blood pressure and alopecia in the community of Kecamatan Belitang, involving 110 respondents. It found that individuals with alopecia had higher blood pressure, with a significant difference of approximately 14 mmHg in systolic and 7 mmHg in diastolic pressure compared to those without alopecia. The results showed a significant association between alopecia and blood pressure, with p-values of 0.00008 for systolic and 0.02 for diastolic pressure. Additionally, the study identified a genetic component, as the Komering ethnic group was more at risk for alopecia. The findings suggest that both blood pressure and genetic factors influence the occurrence of alopecia in this population.
