    A retrospective real-world study evaluated the efficacy of baricitinib monotherapy in treating beard hair loss in 10 male patients with alopecia areata universalis (AAU). The study found that 90% of the patients responded to treatment, with 5 achieving full beard regrowth after an average of 32 weeks. The study demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in beard regrowth, with initial regrowth observed as early as 8 weeks in some patients. The results suggest that baricitinib is effective for beard regrowth in AAU, a challenging subtype of alopecia areata, and highlight the need for further investigation into the role of minoxidil when used in combination with baricitinib.
