TLDR Early baldness in men might be linked to heart disease due to insulin resistance.
A case-control study conducted in Finland involving 154 men aged 19 to 50 suggested a link between early-onset androgenetic alopecia (before 35 years of age) and coronary artery disease, potentially mediated by insulin resistance. The study found that men with early-onset, grade III alopecia had significantly higher insulin levels and were more likely to have conditions associated with insulin resistance, such as obesity, hypertension, and hyperlipoproteinemia.
