This study assessed the antifungal efficacy of 14 topical products against Microsporum canis using hair samples from infected kittens. All products were effective against spores, but miconazole 0.2% and ketoconazole 0.15% needed three treatments for complete disinfection, while others required only one. Residual activity was consistent up to 72 hours post-treatment. Lime sulfur and enilconazole were effective for whole body applications, and clotrimazole 1% and terbinafine 1% showed residual activity for focal therapy. The study recommended enilconazole and lime sulfur twice weekly, and daily or alternate-day adjuvant focal therapy for optimal antifungal activity.
