TLDR Anti-DFS70 antibodies can help identify nonsystemic autoimmune conditions in SLE patients.
The document discussed a case of a 40-year-old woman diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) who also exhibited primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) features. The patient presented with symptoms such as fatigue, loss of appetite, icteric, arthralgia, hair loss, and fever. Laboratory tests showed elevated bilirubin, gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT), and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) levels, along with positive anti-dense fine speckled 70 (DFS70) antibodies. Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) confirmed PBC. Treatment with ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) normalized ALP and GGT levels within two months. The case highlighted the importance of evaluating anti-DFS70 findings in SLE patients for potential nonsystemic autoimmune conditions.
