TLDR People with anhidrotic ectodermal dysplasia may get severe bronchitis if exposed to dust.
The study discussed anhidrotic ectodermal dysplasia, a rare genetic disorder characterized by deficient sweating, sparse hair growth, and deficient teeth. It focused on a family with three generations affected, highlighting two brothers with occupational dust exposure who developed severe bronchitis, particularly the propositus. The study suggested that individuals with this condition might have abnormal bronchial mucosa, making them more susceptible to severe bronchitis in dusty environments. Other affected family members without dust exposure did not exhibit similar bronchial issues.
