This study conducted in Mysore District, Karnataka, India, assessed anemia and iron deficiency among 491 first-trimester pregnant women. Results showed that 26.1% were anemic, mostly mild cases, and 61.4% had iron deficiency, with 28.1% having low serum ferritin levels. Anemia was significantly associated with factors like residence, education, and BMI, and common symptoms included tiredness and hair loss. The study highlights the need for tailored interventions and comprehensive antenatal care to address the high prevalence of anemia and its sociodemographic influences, aiming to improve maternal and fetal health outcomes.
