Treatment of Androgenetic Alopecia with Acupuncture at Zusanli (ST36), Zhubin (KI9), Shaofu (HT8), and Sanyinjiao (SP6) Points, and Topical Aloe Vera Gel and Celery Leaf Extract

    The study addressed androgenetic alopecia (AGA) using acupuncture at specific points (Zusanli ST36, Zhubin KI9, Shaofu HT8, and Sanyinjiao SP6) and topical herbal treatments (Aloe vera gel and Apium graveolens L. celery leaf). The treatment involved 8 acupuncture sessions over 28 days and daily application of the herbal gel. Results showed a significant reduction in hair loss, from 10 hairs in the hair pull test before treatment to 0 hairs after treatment, indicating the combined acupuncture and herbal therapy was effective in managing AGA.
