TLDR Dutasteride mesotherapy showed mixed results and is not recommended as a primary treatment for hair loss.
This case series evaluated dutasteride mesotherapy in 10 patients with androgenetic alopecia and found no statistically significant improvements in hair density or diameter, with variable responses among patients. Some positive results were observed at the frontal scalp, but overall, there was a loss of hair density and width at the vertex. The study suggests that limited success may be due to insufficient treatment duration and frequency. No adverse effects were reported, indicating a potential advantage over oral administration. However, due to the small sample size and mixed results, dutasteride mesotherapy should not be considered a first-line treatment for androgenetic alopecia, and further research is needed.
