TLDR Male pattern baldness is mainly caused by brain heat stress, not DHT.
A recent study proposes that male pattern baldness is primarily caused by brain heat stress rather than DHT toxicity. The research suggests that while DHT increases brain metabolism, the actual issue is thermal damage to hair follicles in areas prone to heat drainage, such as the crown and frontal regions. Personal experiments using menthol cooling showed a significant reduction in hair loss, supporting this theory. This finding could explain why 30% of men with high DHT levels do not experience baldness and why current treatments often yield inconsistent results. The study includes new treatment protocols based on thermal management.
