TLDR Androgen-driven traits don't predict prostate cancer recurrence.
The study investigated whether self-reported androgen-driven phenotypes, such as androgenic alopecia, digit length, and acne, were associated with the aggressiveness or biochemical recurrence of prostate cancer in a cohort of 628 men who underwent radical prostatectomy. The results showed no significant association between these phenotypical features and the occurrence of biochemical recurrence, as indicated by hazard ratios and p-values that did not support a link. Consequently, the study concluded that these androgen-driven phenotypes did not correlate with cancer aggressiveness or recurrence, suggesting that further prospective trials on these features were not warranted.
