    TLDR Some people with alopecia areata, a hair loss condition, get better within a year without treatment, but it can happen again.
    Alopecia areata (AA) is a common asymptomatic condition characterized by sudden total hair loss in a sharply defined, typically spherical area. This complex autoimmune disease is influenced by both hereditary and environmental factors, which affect the susceptibility to and severity of the disease. Approximately 34-50% of patients experience spontaneous recovery within a year, but patients may also experience multiple bouts of alopecia. The case report aims to discuss the identification and management of alopecia areata.
