TLDR Hair loss may increase heart disease risk.
This document discusses the relationship between androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and cardiovascular risk factors. Studies have shown that patients with AGA have an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, including ischaemic heart disease, atherosclerosis, and cardiovascular death. AGA is also associated with arterial hypertension, dyslipidemia, insulin resistance, and metabolic syndrome. The article presents possible mechanisms responsible for cardiovascular risk in AGA, including increased sensitivity to androgens and 5α-reductase activity. Patients with AGA should be monitored periodically for other cardiovascular risk factors and appropriate preventive measures should be taken.

Quitting vaping significantly reduced hair loss for a user who was a heavy vaper and also taking finasteride. Some participants suggest nicotine's vasoconstrictive properties may worsen hair loss, while others share personal anecdotes of hair improvement after quitting smoking or vaping.

Hair loss is linked to cellular physiology and the IGF-1 to TGF-B1 ratio, not just androgen sensitivity. The theory lacks evidence, while finasteride and minoxidil are effective treatments.

Finasteride and Dutasteride do not cause depression or "Post Finasteride Syndrome," with concerns often linked to the nocebo effect and preexisting mental health issues. The EU is unlikely to ban these drugs, but access may become more restricted due to ongoing debates.

The user has been using a combination of oral finasteride, oral dutasteride, topical and oral minoxidil, microneedling, and keto shampoo for hair loss, experiencing significant shedding recently. Suggestions include simplifying the regimen by dropping finasteride and topical minoxidil, and possibly adding RU58841, while others advise maintaining the current approach for consistent results.
