Recent advances in functional neurosurgery, particularly involving machine learning, neural engineering, and robotics, are showing promise in treating neurodegenerative disorders like Parkinson's disease. Clinical trials are testing systems that use Deep Brain Stimulation combined with data from wearable sensors, eye tracking, and digital cognitive assessments. Machine learning algorithms process these data to allow precise adjustments to treatment parameters. These trials demonstrate that AI-powered methods can enhance diagnostic accuracy and symptom monitoring for Parkinson's patients, indicating significant potential for these technologies in managing neurological disorders.
