Exploring the Link Between Acne Vulgaris Severity and Adolescents' Quality of Life in Gresik

    The study investigated the relationship between acne vulgaris severity and adolescents' quality of life in Gresik, involving 210 teenagers. Using a cross-sectional correlation research design, data were collected through the CADI questionnaire and observation sheets. The findings revealed that 46.2% of participants had mild acne, 45.2% had moderate acne, and 8.6% had severe acne. In terms of quality of life, 1% experienced no disturbances, 25.7% had mild disturbances, 31.9% had moderate disturbances, and 41.4% had severe disturbances. The Spearman rank test indicated a significant relationship (p < 0.05) between acne severity and quality of life, concluding that more severe acne is associated with a lower quality of life among adolescents.
