TLDR Endometriosis causes abdominal-pelvic pain, and while surgery and treatments help, pain often persists.
The review of literature on abdominal-pelvic pain in female patients with endometriosis highlighted the condition's complexity and multifactorial nature, emphasizing its significant impact on quality of life due to chronic pain. Diagnosis often required exploratory laparoscopy, and treatment focused on surgical excision and medical therapies to manage symptoms and prevent relapses. Despite these interventions, many patients continued to experience pain, indicating the need for further research into endometriosis' pathogenic mechanisms. The review also stressed the importance of nutritional education and dietary modifications as part of a comprehensive management strategy.
