TLDR The 5 W CO2 laser addition improved hemostasis without harming hair growth or causing damage.
This study compared hair transplantation techniques in 10 men with androgenetic alopecia, focusing on Er:YAG laser, Er:YAG/CO2 laser at low (5 W) and high (10 W) power, and standard punch methods. The addition of a 5 W CO2 laser to the Er:YAG laser improved hemostasis without significantly affecting hair counts or increasing lateral thermal damage. However, the high-power CO2 laser (10 W) led to slightly lower hair counts at 3 months and significantly lower counts at 6 months, along with increased lateral damage. Overall, the 5 W CO2 laser addition was beneficial for hemostasis without adverse effects on hair growth or damage.

Han Bio plans to start clinical trials for a new hair multiplication technology this year, which could significantly reduce the cost and time of hair transplantation. The technology uses a single hair strand to cultivate enough cells for 30,000 hair strands.

      community Verteporfin and Microneedling

      in Treatments 1 year ago
Clinical studies by Dr. Barghouthi and Dr. Bloxham indicate that Verteporfin, when used with FUE and FUT hair transplantation methods, shows promise in hair follicle regeneration and minimal scarring due to its ability to inhibit Yes-associated protein (YAP). Microneedling at depths of 3-3.5mm, combined with Verteporfin, could potentially reactivate dormant follicles, although the optimal dosage and application method are still under investigation. Concerns remain about the DHT sensitivity of regenerated follicles, highlighting the need for further research to optimize trauma levels and Verteporfin concentrations to achieve effective and scar-free hair regeneration.
