Trichoscopy has emerged as a crucial non-invasive tool for diagnosing various forms of alopecia, offering a high diagnostic accuracy of 90–95%. An analytical review of 28 publications from 2019–2025 highlights its effectiveness in identifying key morphological features specific to different types of alopecia: hair shaft diameter variability and perifollicular halo in androgenetic alopecia, yellow and black dots and “exclamation mark” hairs in alopecia areata, and absence of follicular openings and vascular changes in scarring alopecias. The integration of new digital technologies and artificial intelligence further enhances the objectivity and reproducibility of trichoscopic evaluations. The study concludes that trichoscopy is essential for differentiating alopecia forms, determining disease activity, and assessing treatment effectiveness, with future advancements likely to improve its integration into clinical practice through standardized terminology and digital platforms.
