TLDR Low-dose 800 nm laser effectively treats blackheads and coarse pores without harming cell growth.
The study on 24 male guinea pigs investigated the effects of an 800 nm semiconductor laser on blackheads and coarse pores. It found that low-dose laser treatment effectively reduced these skin issues by promoting hair follicle cell apoptosis without affecting PCNA expression. The high-dose laser group showed increased apoptosis and expression of proteins like caspase-3 and Bax, while the control group had higher Bcl-2 expression. The laser's effects included thermal, pressure, photochemical, and electromagnetic impacts, leading to cytokine release, collagen production, and reduced acne bacteria and grease secretion. The study suggested that low-dose laser treatment could enhance hair follicle regeneration and manage skin conditions effectively.
