What the evidence shows: a 2025 systematic review found only three small controlled studies of PRP used alongside hair transplantation (217 people in total). Their results were positive, but the methods varied widely and none used standardised measures, and the authors called for better trials (Sindhusen 2025, PMID 41069573). PRP is optional, and claims that it improves graft survival, speeds healing or thickens hair are clinic claims that have not been proven.
