- What is GT20029 and how does it work as a topical anti-androgen for hair loss? GT20029 is an investigational topical androgen-receptor degrader. One 12-week Phase II trial in 180 Chinese men found two of four regimens beat placebo on hair count; it is not approved or available.
- Is GT20029 more effective than finasteride or RU58841 for DHT-related hair loss? No trial has compared GT20029 with finasteride or RU58841. GT20029 is investigational, and RU58841 is an unapproved research chemical with no human safety data.
- Are there any known side effects of using GT20029 on the scalp long-term? Long-term side effects are unknown. Trials of up to 12 weeks reported mostly mild scalp effects such as dryness and itching, at rates similar to placebo (Hu et al. 2025).
