Gingival Hyperplasia, also known as Gingival Overgrowth, is a condition characterized by an excessive growth of gum tissue around the teeth. This can be caused by factors such as certain medications (e.g., anticonvulsants, immunosuppressants, and calcium channel blockers), hormonal changes, or chronic inflammation due to plaque buildup. The overgrown gums can make oral hygiene difficult, potentially leading to periodontal disease if not managed properly.
