    Blood vessels are tubular structures that transport blood throughout the body, forming part of the circulatory system. They include arteries, which carry oxygen-rich blood away from the heart, veins, which return oxygen-depleted blood back to the heart, and capillaries, which facilitate the exchange of oxygen, nutrients, and waste products between blood and tissues.
