    GlossaryPunch Grafting

small scalp sections with hair follicles transplanted to bald areas

Punch Grafting, also known as Punch Hair Grafting or Punch Hair Transplant, is a hair restoration technique where small, circular sections of scalp containing hair follicles are removed from a donor area and transplanted to a balding or thinning area. Each graft typically contains 2-4 hairs and is placed into tiny holes made in the recipient site, allowing for natural hair growth over time. This method was more common in the past but has largely been replaced by more advanced techniques like Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE).
