medications that treat psychotic disorders by altering brain neurotransmitters

Antipsychotics, also known as neuroleptics, are medications used to manage and treat symptoms of psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and severe depression. They work by altering the effects of neurotransmitters in the brain, particularly dopamine, to help reduce hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thinking.
