The Effect of Zinc and Copper Deficiency on Hematological Parameters, Oxidative Stress and Antioxidant Levels in Sheep

The study aimed to assess the impact of zinc and copper deficiency on hematological parameters, oxidative stress, and antioxidant levels in sheep. Conducted in Basra province, it involved 75 sheep, with 60 exhibiting zinc and copper deficiency and 15 healthy controls. Deficient sheep showed clinical signs such as loss of appetite, depression, pica, wool biting, alopecia, parakeratosis, stiff gait, diarrhea, pale mucous membranes, and decreased rumenal contraction. The study highlighted the significant effects of zinc and copper deficiency on sheep health, emphasizing the importance of these trace elements in maintaining normal physiological functions.
