TLDR PRP combined with vitamin D improves vitiligo more effectively than vitamin D alone.
The study examined the effects of intralesional injections of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and vitamin D on vitiligo in 40 participants. Group A received PRP alone and PRP with vitamin D, while Group B received vitamin D alone and PRP with vitamin D. Results indicated significant pigmentation improvement in both groups, with the combination of PRP and vitamin D being more effective than vitamin D alone. Specifically, Group A showed a 55% improvement in combined patches and 60% in PRP-only patches, while Group B showed a 60% improvement in combined patches and 40% in vitamin D-only patches. The study concluded that PRP, either alone or combined with vitamin D, provided satisfactory results in treating vitiligo, recommending further research and the potential for combining PRP with other treatments for enhanced outcomes.
