TLDR Sebaceous adenitis affects mainly young to middle-aged dogs and can be managed with topical treatments and essential fatty acids.
The chapter on miscellaneous skin diseases covered various conditions such as sebaceous adenitis (SA), eosinophilic dermatitis, and ichthyosis, focusing on their etiology, clinical signs, diagnosis, and treatment. Sebaceous adenitis was highlighted as an uncommon condition primarily affecting young to middle-aged dogs, with rare occurrences in cats. Diagnosis of SA was based on signalment, history, and physical examination, with differential diagnoses including demodicosis and dermatophytosis. Treatment for mild SA cases involved topical therapy and high doses of oral essential fatty acids.
