TLDR Radiosurgery in cosmetic surgery leads to quick healing and better-looking scars.
In 1998, a study from the Department of Dermatology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center discussed the use of ultra-high frequency electrosurgery (radiosurgery) in cosmetic surgical procedures. The study, based on personal experience, found that radiosurgery facilitated the performance of various cosmetic surgeries including blepharoplasty, face lifting, hair restoration surgery, abdominoplasty, nasal reduction, and sculpturing of rhinophyma. The use of radiosurgery minimized collateral heat damage, which in turn allowed for rapid healing and aesthetically pleasing scars.
