TLDR Using a laser to remove hair in the urethra after hypospadias repair is effective and minimally invasive.
Hair growth within the urethra post-hypospadias repair can cause complications like UTIs and urinary obstruction. A 55-year-old male with a history of penile hypospadias repair presented with these issues, and a hair bezoar was found in his urethra. After removing the bezoar, a transcutaneous ND:YAG laser was used to ablate the hair follicles, proving to be a minimally invasive and effective treatment. This method is recommended as a first-line treatment to prevent recurrent complications in similar cases.
