TLDR A woman with undifferentiated connective tissue disease was diagnosed with renal amyloidosis and carpal tunnel syndrome.
A 62-year-old female with undifferentiated connective tissue disease (UCTD) presented with multiple joint pain, Raynaud's phenomenon, alopecia, leg swelling, skin hardening on fingers, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Despite a moderately positive antinuclear antibody test, other specific antibodies and RA factor were negative. A 24-hour urine test revealed nephrotic range proteinuria, and a renal biopsy indicated a vascular pattern of renal amyloidosis with interstitial fibrosis. The patient was diagnosed with UCTD featuring renal amyloidosis and carpal tunnel syndrome.
