Turkish Medicinal and Aromatic Plants for the Treatment of Skin Diseases in Humans and Animals

    TLDR Public education should promote the careful use of Turkish medicinal plants for skin diseases.
    The study reviewed 60 sources to update the use of 142 plant taxa from 61 families in Turkish traditional medicine for treating skin disorders in humans and animals. Leaves were commonly used for conditions like wounds, hair loss, and eczema, while flowers were used for acne and rashes. Roots were applied for wound healing and burns, and seeds were used for hair loss and as antibacterial agents. Essential oils had antiviral and antiseptic properties. The study emphasized the need for public education on the conscious use of these herbs and further clinical and veterinary research.
