TLDR Liquid nitrogen cryotherapy worked well for many patients with stubborn alopecia areata.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of liquid nitrogen (LN) cryotherapy in treating recalcitrant alopecia areata (AA) in 88 patients at a tertiary care hospital in Karachi over six months. The results showed that 5.7% of patients had an excellent response, 33.0% had a good response, 21.6% had a moderate response, 10.2% had a poor response, and 29.5% had no response. The study concluded that LN cryotherapy had a good response in most patients, but more well-controlled trials are needed to confirm these findings.

Minoxidil requires at least 6 months to show results and may not work for everyone. Combining it with Finasteride can improve outcomes, but stopping Minoxidil can result in losing any regrowth.
