TLDR Combining TUSV with finasteride effectively treats recurrent hemospermia.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of transurethral seminal vesiculoscopy (TUSV) combined with finasteride in treating recurrent hemospermia in 32 patients. After initial finasteride treatment, patients underwent TUSV to explore and treat the causes of hemospermia, followed by continued finasteride use. The procedure successfully identified various underlying conditions, such as seminal vesiculitis and seminal calculi. The average operative time was 31 minutes, with minimal complications, including 1 case of acute epididymitis and 3 cases of breast discomfort. Over a follow-up period of 6 months to 2 years, 29 patients were cured, and 2 experienced recurrence, demonstrating that TUSV combined with finasteride was a safe and effective treatment for recurrent hemospermia.
