TLDR The procedure effectively improved facial appearance with high satisfaction and low complications.
The study on the transtemporal endoscopic subcutaneous face-and-neck lift with SMAS plication involved 201 female patients aged 30-45 over an 18-year period. The procedure, which aims to address early facial aging with minimal invasiveness, showed high patient satisfaction and low complication rates, as measured by the FACE-Q instrument and Likert scale. It effectively improved facial contours and reduced jowls without visible preauricular scars. Complications were minimal, with minor alopecia and skin pleating observed in a small percentage of cases. The study suggests this method as a promising alternative for early-to-moderate facial ptosis, though not suitable for advanced facial laxity.
