TLDR Topical cyclosporin promotes hair growth.
The study investigated the effects of topical cyclosporin A (CyA) on hair growth using human split-thickness skin grafts transplanted onto nude mice. Twenty mice were divided into two groups based on skin graft thickness (1 mm and 0.4 mm) and treated with CyA in olive oil, while a control group of 10 mice received only olive oil. Hair growth was observed exclusively in the CyA-treated groups, with 4 out of 10 grafts in each group showing hair growth. The study concluded that topical CyA promoted hair growth, supporting previous findings of its beneficial effects on hair growth in this experimental model.
