TLDR Tinea capitis is rare in healthy adults but should be considered in scalp issues.
Three cases of tinea capitis in healthy adults were presented, highlighting the rarity of this condition in nonimmunocompromised adults (incidence <1%). The study emphasized the importance of maintaining a high level of clinical suspicion and thorough diagnostic efforts when evaluating adults with scalp dermatitis or alopecia, due to the potential for contagion from asymptomatic carriers among both children and adults.
