The study assessed the in vitro thrombolytic activity of Moringa oleifera leaves and flowers, revealing significant clot lysis potential. Methanolic extracts of leaves (MEL-I and MEL-II) showed clot lysis activities of 36.64% and 41.40%, respectively, while flower extracts (MEF-I and MEF-II) demonstrated 19.07% and 20.52% clot lysis at a concentration of 1 mg/ml. These results suggested that M. oleifera could potentially be used to prevent athero-thrombotic cardiovascular diseases. The study highlighted the need for further research to isolate the bioactive molecule responsible for this thrombolytic effect.
