The review of 79 empirical studies on transgender men, conducted between 2010 and 2019, revealed a significant lack of explicit theoretical foundations, with only 3.85% of the articles making theories explicit, particularly regarding queer theory, recognition, and sexual and gender identity. The studies were categorized into themes such as discrimination, diversity, education, identity, marketing, health, social issues, and violence. The findings highlighted the need for more explicit theoretical frameworks in research on transgender men to enhance bioethical decision-making.
